Today is the day!!!

Yes, today is the day. November first. The start of national writer's month, and I have yet to meet my goal. Turns out that writing 1,667 words a day is quite harder than I expected. While I started my day off early and great, I've been sitting at the table with my coffee, notebook, and thinking cap, but alas, the word vomit has yet to show up.  I thought I was on a wonderful writing streak and counted my words, but found I had only written 240, words in about an hour... well, that wasn't the streak I was hoping for. The problem I'm currently having is that I know what I want to say, but well, I can't figure out how to bring it all out. Hopefully, soon, I can get the writing done because I really want to meet my goal this month and if I can't produce anything on my day off. Working days are clearly going to be a struggle. Ahh, well, I will keep you posted.  I spent a good chunk of time today, and I will be honest, I was actually disappointed in the number of wo

NaNoWriMo

Patience is definitely not my forte if you know me. I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of November 1st so that I can participate in NaNoWriMo- which for those of you that don’t know is National November Writers Month. I’ve set a goal to start writing in The Princess of Belsaria book two.      My goal is to write 50,000 words for the entire month, which means I need to write for an average of a consistent full hour. I don’t do math very well in this aspect. I’m a writer not a mathematician.... lol. Anyway to get a min of 50,000 words in a day, I have to write a minimum of 1,667 words a day. That’s only if I get the juices flowing so I really hope I have some good days to pick up my bad ones. I’m not sure if you would need a login or not, but here is my profile page on the website.  https://nanowrimo.org/participants/mermaid-s_coven   Hopefully it works, let me know if not. Anyway more to come, signing off  Taisha Speters

The Princess of Belsaria 2 sneak peek ????

So here it is, a quick sneak peek at the ball gown that inspired the coronation gown for Marsais. I really love the color blue and really wanted a large flowing gown for her coronation. I have some others that were thought of for inspiration. While this is my main idea I would love to know your thoughts. Down below you will see 3 other images of what I chose to use for the dress. If you would like to help vote I would really value your opinion. To all my adoring fans I love you!!!! Oh and btw another update. My book will be pushed to my editor on the 20th of October!!!! Kinda Lonely!!

So it's been around a week since Jeff and Carter left town and its been pretty lonely I won't lie.  You know its funny how during this quarentine that people are saying they don't need any body or that they are fine. I call BS. Truth is we are designed to be social beings. We thrive on interaction and human conversation. I can't image how people feel when they lose their significant other. Which in some cases the widowed usually follows a few months to a couple years behind.  My husband is still on this earth, we talk every day that he is out of town, but I come home from work and I smell him in our room. His clothing neatly stacked and waiting to be warn. The bed feels enormous. Like a infinity pool never ending. Empty. I steal his pillows to stack against me. Weirdly enough I try to use stuff animals to cuddle. It's so not the same.  The second night I cried. I don't know why I cried, but I did. My parter does a significant amount for me at home, and not hea

Welcome to the Speters's show update 09/29/20

Hello Hello! Welcome to the Speters show!!     So much to fill you in on my lovely readers. As you know the month of October is rapidly approaching which means a few things are happening. One thing, if you can believe it, is CARTER will be THIRTEEN YEARS OLD!! Can you believe it? I'm barely 30 and I have a teen boy. I can't believe it. Two weeks from Thursday my boy will be a teen.     For the next part of October if everything goes right I will be sending my book off to a lovely editor who will be changing my work of art. I'm beyond thrilled about the new achievement and chapter in my life. More to come on that here in the near future.      My last day at child haven here in Nevada was on September 9th. I've been pretty hush-hush about my new job. I'm an RBT ( for those who don't know that is a Registered Behavior Therapist. I'm quite thrilled about my accomplishment as I now have 38 hours a week and I got a raise so I'm making a significant amount mor

Sunday, Funday Work day

So as many of you know, today is the start of Football!!! Though many stadiums are not allowing fans in the seats at least you can enjoy it on TV hopefully. I don’t usually share this publicly, my team is the Miami Dolphins. JUST SO YOU KNOW I AM NOT A SPORTS PERSON BY ANY MEANS. My family asked that I chose a team and I’m obsessed with Dolphins, so there you have it. I played my sisters friend Crystal today. She is a fan of the Patriots and they owned me. 21-17... Ouch haha.      I just helped my book meetings settle on more of a limited schedule as due to Covid our numbers are dropping, though editors are super swamped because well naturally authors have quite a bit of down time right now. My editor has asked to start my work on October 15th!!! EEEKK. So I’ve started book two of my Princess of Belsaria series. I’ve also began another project with a good friend of mine. We are co-writing a werewolf series following our lead character Dahlia and her journey in becoming the next Al

I am so bad at this 2020 edition

Welcome to the slacker blog, haha. I am the worst at this, but I want to do better, so here is a new post. I guess once again, I need to fill everyone in since I am such a slacker. My last post was approx. 3 ish years ago. Horrible, I know. SOOO.... here is the update.  Jeff and I got married. We tied the knot here in the beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada. Even though it was out of state, we did have a good chunk of family come down, which was super important. We were both really happy about this exciting news as we were both nervous many members of his family would not be able to make it. He surprised me during our ceremony with a wedding band, and I surprised him with a new band in his favorite color. Guys, he even danced with me! For those that don't know my husband that well.... he doesn't dance. I stressed not being able to dance with him. He sucked it up just for me! Unfortunately,  with all good things, something bad has to happen, right? Well, we haven't been able t
